APU大学は、ITや工学など『技術系』に強く、ア二ケーションやゲームの開発をしたりと他大学にはないユニークな大学として有名です。もちろん、ビジネス学部やデザイン、観光なども人気を博しています。 また大学キャンパスは首都クアラルンプールから車で30～40分ほどの場所に位置し、最も治安が良いエリアの1つとなっています。そのため、留学生にとっても安心して大学生活を送れる環境となっています。学校内には病院が併設されているなど安全面への配慮は大きいです。その他にも、図書館や図書館会議室、パソコン完備のマルチメディアルーム、カフェテリア、ジムやビリヤードを楽しめる学生ラウンジもあり、授業だけではなく、学生同士のコミュニケーションの場も提供されています。 各学部でイギリス・ドゥモントフォート大学とのデュアルディグリー(APUとドゥモントフォート大学、2つの卒業証明書の取得)が可能です。またインターンシップは全学生が対象(必須)となっており、就職率は95%～100％と、卒業後の進路までを見通す、手厚いサポートのある大学です。 留学生の多くはキャンパス内の学生寮で生活をしており、部屋の種類は1人部屋又は2人部屋、キッチンがついていたり、バルコニーがついていたりと様々です。
